Theresa Quealy has a BSc in Acupuncture awarded by Kingston University, and is a member of the British Acupuncture Council.
Acupuncture can help with a wide variety of physical, muscular-skeletal and also emotional issues, and is increasingly recognised as being effective for pain relief. People often turn to acupuncture for help with specific symptoms or pain (eg. back pain, osteoarthritis of the knee, headaches) but others choose acupuncture simply to enhance their well-being.
Acupuncture can be used effectively alongside conventional medicine, and is considered suitable for all ages, although Theresa does not treat children under twelve.
Theresa is also trained in facial acupuncture which promotes anti-ageing and healing through skin rejuvenation and by stimulating collagen production.
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into specific points on the body to regulate the flow of "qi", your body's vital energy. For a number of lifestyle and environmental reasons, qi can become disturbed, depleted or blocked, which can result in symptoms of pain and illness. Treatment is aimed at the root of your condition as well as your main symptoms.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has a comprehensive list of conditions proven to be treatable by acupuncture based on results of controlled clinical trials Click Here and is widely used within the NHS.
